I'm Suzanne, the person behind Small Business Bookkeeping.
I'm also a mum of four, including twin toddlers, which means I know exactly what it's like when life is full and something like bookkeeping quietly slips down the list. Not because you don't care, but because there simply aren't enough hours in the day. I've been there myself too, that feeling of avoiding your finances because you're scared of what you'll find when you finally look.
That's exactly why I built this business the way I have.
I'm AAT-qualified and licensed, and I've worked in accountancy for many years. But the more time I spent in traditional practice, the more I wanted to build something different, something that felt less like a formal process and more like having someone in your corner. Someone you could message at 9pm without feeling like you were being a nuisance. Someone who'd explain things properly instead of making you feel silly for asking.
So that's what I do now. I support sole traders across the UK with their bookkeeping, tax, VAT and software, helping them stay on top of things without it taking over their life.

How We Work
I'I keep things simple and flexible, so getting support doesn't feel like another thing to manage.
From the start, I take the time to understand your business, how you like to work, and what you actually need help with, so everything feels relevant rather than generic.
You can send things over as you go and ask questions whenever they come up, by message, voice note, email or call, whatever works for you. Evening support is available too, so you're not trying to squeeze everything into an already busy day.
Everything runs through cloud software like Xero or FreeAgent, with a secure way to share documents, so it's all in one place and easy to find when you need it. You'll always know what's been done, what needs attention, and what's coming up next, without it feeling overcomplicated.
