I’m Suzanne, an AAT-qualified and licensed accountant, and the person behind Small Business Bookkeeping. I’ve worked in accountancy for many years, supporting a wide range of businesses and building strong experience in bookkeeping, tax, and compliance. I’m a Xero partner and also work with FreeAgent, which means I can support clients using software that suits their business and how they like to work.
Small Business Bookkeeping was created to support small business owners who want help with their finances without feeling overwhelmed or unsure. Our focus is on making bookkeeping, tax and finances understandable and manageable, so you can feel confident about where your business stands and what needs to be done next.
We work with self-employed individuals across the UK, providing fully remote support wherever you’re based. We know that everyone communicates differently, so we’re flexible in how we keep in touch. Whether you prefer email, messages, voice notes, video calls, or the occasional phone call, we’ll communicate in the way that feels most comfortable for you. Evening appointments are also available, making it easier to get support around a busy working day.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we offer tailored support that fits around your business. Whether you need someone to check over your books, take care of everything for you, or help you get set up properly from the start, our aim is always the same – to make your numbers make sense and give you the clarity you need to move your business forward.

How We Work
We believe bookkeeping support should be clear, flexible, and easy to fit into your day. From the outset, we take time to understand your business, your goals, and how you prefer to work, so the support you receive is practical and relevant.
All of our bookkeeping and tax services are provided remotely using cloud accounting software such as Xero and FreeAgent. We use a secure client portal for all document sharing, information gathering, and signing, so everything is kept in one safe place. The portal is also available via a handy app, making it easy to upload documents or complete requests whenever it suits you.
Questions can be asked as they arise, and regular check-ins are arranged around your schedule. Clients are also welcome to send over quick questions via WhatsApp, alongside email, messages, voice notes, or video calls. There’s no pressure to communicate in a particular way – we adapt to what works best for you.
Clear explanations are central to how we work. You’ll always know what’s been completed, what needs attention, and what’s coming next, without unnecessary complexity or confusing language.
